A Flower Project

I wanted to share with you something I've been working on recently and really enjoying. It's still a bit of an experiment, a work in progress, but I'm been collecting flowers - some from meaningful places, some at interesting times, all local to me - and making art with them.

These images were actually made with a Canon scanner - no traditional camera involved. It's been such an interesting way to create. I love how the lighting falls mainly on the things that touch the glass and then dramatically falls away. I love how much gorgeous detail you get. I love that these flowers are frozen in time. I love that I remember where I was when I collected each one of them.

These flowers were from
1 - Thistle and gebera: The Greenhouse
2 - Lilac: Iping
3 - Bluebell, hawthorn, cow parsley: Stedham
4 - Dandelion, Midhurst

Tools: Canon Adobe Creative Cloud
