Walking around Paris in black and white

Last summer I visited Paris with a few friends. We only stayed for a few days, but it was the first time my husband and I had been out of the country together so the trip was quite a big deal for us.

Travel photography is something I marvel at when I see it from other people but never really considered doing it myself - mostly because I’m a homebody who is quite happy with my familiar surroundings. When the opportunity of traveling to Paris arose it was the thought of Paris street photography that sealed the deal for me. We were only there for a few days, so it was quite a quick trip to get some photos.

I re-edited these photos this month and really enjoyed looking back at the memories. For every photo there must have been something that made me want to take the photo - so I tried to lean in to finding what it was about the image that drew me in in the first place.

I decided to edit these in black and white because they looked so classic and dramatic. The buildings and architecture created such an atmosphere in black and white that I was really drawn to.
