Sending Shakespeare into space - working on inVerse series 2

Ancient poetry. Shakespeare. Short films.

Over the last couple of years I have had the pleasure of working with Jack Jewers at Queen Anne’s Revenge on helping to bring his vision for inVerse to life. Working both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, this year launches the second series of inVerse celebrating Folio 400 - the 400th anniversary of the first publication of Shakespeare’s plays.

Series 2’s cast includes: Cerys Matthews, Eliza Butterworth, Crystal Clarke, Amber Anderson and Tom Baker

Themes explored in the films range from the war in Ukraine and the impact of COVID, to social justice protests and the European refugee crisis. With uncanny parallels between our lives now, and life in 1623, the films demonstrate that Shakespeare’s words have never been more relevant as we find ourselves moving from pandemic to global conflict, and that our experiences of loss, joy, grief and compassion remain the same.’ - inversefilms.co.uk

Following a tour of literary festivals and a star-studded launch at St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square, inVerse series 2 is now available to watch for free online.

Playing Luna

For the last episode in the series ‘Lovers and Madmen’ I played Luna - a young woman entering an art contest trying to send a portrait of Shakespeare into the air.

‘This whimsical and charming reimagination of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved speeches is narrated by Tom Baker.’ - inversefilms.co.uk
